Hey there guys! I was just wondering if it was normal for your gliders to leave a lot of food for a few days. Aparently my girls were getting bored with their frozen diet so I went out the other day and got a whole new batch of goodies and cut them in varying sizes and shapes and got a bunch of different things, and they ate them right up last night and tonight. Was my thinking correct? Were they just getting bored? They are still super active, and ate almost all of their food the past two nights, so I don't think they were unhealthy. I'm just asking if any of you have had a similar experience. Also I got tofu meat crumbles (looks and tastes like hamburger without all the fat), is this okay to give to them? It doesn't have artificial preservatives and is high in protien.

I also wanted to share a cute story about playtime last night. So I had Wavern and Vestral out for about an hour last night, and they were little space cadets! Running all over! I have the back scratches to prove it! Anyway, Vestral got tuckered out and went back into the cage to get something to eat. She had a piece of yellow squash and was eating it, and I was gently petting her (she is bonding pretty well but can sometimes get nervous) and offered her a piece of chicken. She looked at the chicken and then at her squash and reached up to grab the chicken. So she had a rather large piece of chicken in one paw and a medium sized piece of squash in the other and takes turns eating each! No I didn't get a picture of this, but I figured I wanted to bond with her before scaring her with a flash, so I'm sorry!

Wavern also did something cute that night. She had a piece of apple (her favorite) and was sitting at the bottom of the cage. I was petting with her and play taking away her apple. Then I started offering her other pieces of food to see if she wanted them. Here comes a cucumber! Sniff. Looks at apple, looks at cucumber, keeps eating apple. Mushroom? Sniff, look, look, apple. Chicken? Sniff, look, look apple. Tomato? Sniff, lick, look at tomato, look at apple, nope still the apple! It was really cute!

It is very normal for them to get bored with the food. Kind of funny, because they don't seem to get very bored with their favorites like Wave's apple for example, but they do seem to get bored of the stuff they could take or leave. Tofu is one of those things that some think it is okay and others don't. I believe there are some past threads about tofu. I would have like to see the glider taking turns eating out of both hands I bet it was so cute!

It is nice to change it up now and then, but I would still put their frozen food in and not a lot of the other new stuff. You don't want to change their diet to fast. Maybe change one or two things each night.
