So I got him 8 weeks OOP. its been 1 week, and we have made incredible progress. the breeder i got him from has a another boy available... so this boy would come from the same breeder, but obviously different parents... and he would be a week younger than my asimov.

should i jump at this opportunity to get little asimov a friend? or, shall i wait til he is a bit older and ready to neuter? and, since they are from the same breeder, i feel like i can cut the 30 day quarantine down?

A week difference in age is perfect; they should be about the same size so that if introductions lead to fighting, each will be able to defend himself. If the breeder is agreeable, I would give him another two to four weeks with his parents. In that third month they learn so much about how to be a glider, develop social skills and self-confidence.

Good question. Ask the breeder, do the parents play together, are they separated? Was your joey around the others parents? Questions like that, but then again it still can't hurt to get vet exams and wait.

I am so happy to hear that you are making great progress with your little guy! I think this is an awesome opportunity for you and him to get a friend, and trust me, he will be much happier for it! Two might stink a bit more, but they are a lot more fun!

I think you should get him one sooner rather than later, but I also agree with snusie... you should give him a little longer with his parents. A vet check is a good idea anyways... I'd take him just as a general wellness checkup and to check for parasites.

Congrats on bonding with your little guy! Good luck with getting him a little buddy...
