I just recently cut calvins nails and he is still getting caught on his fleece pouch. Every tutorial I watched about cutting nails says to cut only a TINY bit off the tip. Well, I do that, and their nails still get caught in stuff and they are still as sharp as daggers! So am I not taking enough off? I can see their vain I think but im too scared to even get close to it in case I misjudge. Does someone have like a before and after picture of how much they take off?? Thanks for your help.

Hm. Maybe you should take him to the vet and have the vet do it. That way you can watch a professional do it. I personally just use the Nail Trimmer Track in the Wodent Wheel and that works great.

Could it possibly be from the pouch and not his nails?

I dont think its the pouch, I just made this pouch a few days ago. Maybe Ill try the vet if its that cheap but I dont mind doing it myself I just wish I knew how much to take off. I tried the trim trax for the stealth wheel for awhile but it made the wheel get really dirty and even smelled bad after I washed it so I threw them away. If anyone just knows how much they cut off, or can somehow describe it too me to more detail that would be awesome. If not, Ill try a vet tho.

When you trim their nails you should do it at an up and down angle like you would for most other animals, it helps prevent the nails from fraying which might be the problem for you.
