I have been looking for Boo a new BFF . (It seems like it has become an obsession.) I have a friend that lives in Minnesota and has females and said he would let me have one of the little girls that is starting to be weened from the mom. BUT, she would have to be shipped. URRRGGGHHHHH...I said no to that because I just can't imagine putting a little suggie in a shipping box and sending her across country. (Especially on a plane but that could be my own fear of flying) It just doesn't seem right to me to do that such a tiny little suggie..Plus they loose luggage how can you expect them to keep track of what I am guessing is such a little box or carrier?

There are tons of online places that ship.. I am sure someone on here has gotten there little babies this way.. Soooo I am just curious...

Am I just over reacting to the whole shipping idea?

Has anyone on here had their glider shipped?

If you did have them shipped was your glider ok or traumatized from the experience?

If you did get your suggie by shipping them..would you do it again..

If so WHy?

If not Why?

Sorry so long...but it is just bugging the heck outta me right now if I am going into over reacting mode over this?.

Always look for gliders that need to be re-homed or rescued first. ^^'

Good luck. if u give me ur state ill help u. or area.

I am NOT by any means looking to ship a poor glider....I Personally can't imagine doing that but that is just me..But since there are so many places doing so..I really want to know WHY someone did so and what were if any the affects to the glider...Just looking for a little knowledge and insight on the matter since it seems like so many places are saying they will ship.. I also figured since I am somewhat of a newbie I would ask on here because there are so many people who know so much more than I do on these little guys..

As for my search for Boos new BFF..I am on craigslist petfinder kiijji oodle the animal shelters even on here looking. I look through the classifieds in my area and have friends doing the same helping me out. Every day I am looking locally. I have also talked with Lucky Glider Rescue Unfortunately my husband says it is to far for me to go.(slowly working on that issue though) I am actually waiting for a response from someone here in reno who can no longer keep their glider. So as of right now I am keeping my fingers crossed on this. If it does not happen then I will just keep looking. I have faith that Eventually Boo's new BFF will happen..

I know you've been looking on all those sites.. but have you put an ad up on them? Another member looked for a long while and then she put up an ad saying she was looking for one and got multiple responses. Just another thing to try.

Thanks Suggielover.. I am in Reno Nevada area..I will take all the help I can get to find her a new friend. I asked earlier on a post about males and with everyone's help and input about it my husband and I decided we are going to stick with another female for her. However, females seem to be pretty hard to find..atleast around here.

I found my new little girl on kijiji, I posted an add and was just about to give up and I got TWO responses.

I also recently found another site kind of like criagslist and kijiji.... it's called Hoobly. Hope I'm not breaking any rules by posting it, but here's the link

well as i said b4 some people ship anyways but its not good for them. because of stress and besides u dont know the conditions they will be in while being shipped. the person, or thing shipping them may not be clean or properly fit to transport gliders. shipping them they might get deehydrated, and die. so i say shipping gliders is a big no no. someone may disagree, but thats my opinion to it. :)
