Hi well I am getting a sugar glider for christmas and I already have my cage for her/him. My mom is taking me out to buy fleece and make everything myself. If you know any good website on how to make them that would be great. I can't wait!!!!!! Also I want to make pretty much everything so toys, cage sets, bonding pouch so any sites would be so nice.

Do you already have one glider? They are colony animals and are much happier with at least one other friend. Maybe you can talk your mom in to two. I don't know of any sites with directions on how to make your cage accessories, but I do know their is people in the classifieds that would be happy to take a order for some.

That's fantastic! A few things though. Did you know that you should buy gliders in pairs? They are colony animals and lonely gliders can self mutilate themselves to the point of death. Second. When sewing pouches and stuff be really careful not to leave exposed seams that the gliders can get caught on. There are some really fantastic video instructions out there somewhere. I'm sure someone else can post links. I can't sew if my life depended on it, so I'm not sure where they are. Do you know what diet you're going to put them on already? Believe me, you will never stop learning and researching about the little guys. =] Do you know where an exotic vet that is knowledgeable about gliders is?

I am trying to talk me mom into letting me get two and I think it is working. It just means I will need to make some more money and help pay more which is fine with me.

I am going to be taking them to my exotic vet that we take my Cockatoo Max. I have already talked to him and made sure that he knows how to treat gliders. I also am going to use the BML diet.

Yay! Sounds like you are definitely doing your research! Do you know where you're getting your glider from already? Some places/people will sometimes give you a discount if you get two together.

You may be able to find some on craigslist, hoobly, kijiji that would be a lot cheaper than buying from a breeder that may help with cost. Also if you think it would help convince her to let you have two show her the facts or let her come here and read.

My friends grandma breeds some and I might be getting them from her but she is asking like $300 for two :/. I also have looked on craigslist but I am trying to be very careful on there because I don't know them and I have heard of some people getting sick gliders and didn't know about it and the gliders dieing.

$300 for 2 is average from a reputable breeder. Do you know how your friend's grandma cares for the gliders, and if they're well socialized?

This site www.suzsugargliders.com/nosewaccessories.htm has some great no sew fleece things you can make. The only thing is on the hammock you might want to use a bigger piece of fabric (its kinda small if you don't). You can also get a lot of ideas by just looking at what others have made. lol I just noticed someone else gave you this link. Wish you luck.

Yeah she cares for them I went and saw them today. They all look and seem very healthy. I could pet and hold all of them. She told me that she feeds them BML diet. We also talked about if I was to get two about a lower price for them but thats a maybe. Thank you for the link :3

Wow... super scary. I will be checking my stuff. I didn't make the pouch, but I have two hammocks they maybe a problem. Thanks so much for posting that.

Wow that is scary. If I am going to use the no sewing stuff I'll be sure to watch it and change it out. I think for the pouchs I am going to have my mom sew it. My mom is really good at sewing and I do want to be on the safe side.

Thank you. Also with the no-sew pouches I think I might know away to make the safer(< not sure if thats even a word lol sorry its 6:30am here). I went to bed thinking about how they were not safe is some ways and I just woke up with a great idea on how to make them safe. I want to try them out and see if they work fine and that they are suggie safe. I hope this all makes sence lol.

So I'm worried now. One my mom wants me to get one just in case it dosen't work out. I have told her and showed her the problems with having one, but she believes her friend from work who had a sugar glider that it was happy and health just being by its self. It wasn't the poor thing died like a month after she got it. So I might be getting just one sugar glider and if this happens I will be saving my money and getting her/him a friend and a bigger cage. I hope I can talk my mom into letting me get two.
