Well, genji tents are too expensive for me and I saw this tent and was wondering if it's ok to buy? It looks nice, fits 2 children. lol

I think any tent that zips completely and has some mesh for them to climb on is ok. I have a tent we used for camping (when we had jetski's and before we had kids..lol.) It's HUGE and a pain to put up but my gliders LOVE it. You might want to put a sheet down or a large piece of fleece even because the plastic bottom can scare them a bit since it makes noise.

The only thing I see is that there's not a whole lot of mesh. Gliders love to climb the sides, and they wouldn't have much to climb on. But the size is good, and if you take some toys and treats, it should be fine. Get a dozen crickets! You'll have a blast watching Gizmo chase them down, and he'll have even more fun than you. I put a fleece blanket on the floor; Washi loves to tunnel under it while the other two pounce on him from above. It's great.

The genji is twice as much, but if I were you I would just save some $$ up and hold out for a genji. I looked everywhere for a tent that would be a good substitute and didn't find anything that was comparable. Aside from the mesh on all four sides, it also is really fast to set up and fold away....we're talking 2 seconds to pop open and 15 seconds to fold and store. I use mine all the time and I don't know that I would if I had to spend a lot of time putting it up and taking it down. Do you have any really nice relatives that would buy you one for Christmas?? :)

I totally agree. I wish I had just bought a Genji right from the get go. I wasted my money on poorly made, too small tents. This one is so convenient to use and easy to store!

Unfortunatley I didn't know about the genji tent when we got our tent, but we do have places inside of ours where we can hang toys for them to glide back and forth too and there is some mesh up top so it works for us. Of course if I knew than what I know now I would of went with the genji.

I have a regular tent that just stays put up all the time in my gliders room. It takes up a lot of space. I guess it would be better if I had one that would pop up and put away easily.

But anyway... I think getting a tent should kind of be looked at as an investment, it might be worth it to save up and spend a little more to get one that is really nice or the one you really want. You're going to be using it daily for a long time. Possibly for as long as you keep your glider. If you get one that's too small or you don't like it you'll just end up buying a better one later anyway.

I love my genji and so do my gliders, I'm really glad that everyone here told me to get one before I payed for something that was useless.

I had gotten that tent and brought it back. It was so hot to sit inside for me. I wound up getting the genji and I'm so glad I did. Much cooler and my gliders love it.

I have that exact same tent. I fixed it up with some not so exspensive stuff and it's perfect for gliders if you don't have the money for a Genji. It has 4 hooks inside at the center top that you can hang things from and a little mesh shelf up there too. My Gliders love to get up there and glide down. Here is a picture of mine.




The Ark is a ferret Ark you can get at Petsmart and hang from the hooks. I also got some Dog pull ropes with balls on the ends to hang from it too. They love it and it works for me as I didn't have the money for Genji either.

With the Genji - you can also sit and watch tv while your gliders crawl all over you. It has a lot of mesh that they can cling to and also makes it a much cooler tent.

Yeah I would say that one that pops up and folds down easy (unless you r going to leave it up) would be the way to go. We go camping a lot and I hate sitting the tent up. I got lucky and found a small popup one at a sale.

Goldwinger, I have that exact same tent! What did you put at the bottom cause mine is a dark grey and I don't like it lol.

This is the tent I had originally but everyone raved and raved about the Genji and I was annoyed with putting the other one up and taking it down so even after trying to save money, I ended up shelling out the extra dough to upgrade anyway!

It is worthwhile. I did sign up for an Amazon credit card to get a $30 credit so that helped to offset the shipping costs.....

Maybe you could get someone to buy it for you for Christmas?

I have an Ozark trail tent there is only mess towards the top but i added a blanket as well as a fleece piece that was part of my cage set they seem to have fun climbing up and jumping around tho not anytime soon hehe gotta let the nails come back But it works so just do what you can afford :)

How is your baby anyway? I felt horrible just reading your post, I can't imagine how you must have felt watching all that. I'm such an animal lover that I probably would have cried right then and there, LOL.
