Yay!!!!! I am so happy!!!! I got him for $100 and he is about a year 1/2. His old owner was a 10 year old girl who did love them but didn't know how to take care of him. She only feed him pellets he never got fruits or veggies. No mealworms nothing but pellets. He is very sweet and will come right to you which is a good thing. For some reason they didn't name him so I am trying to find a name that would match him. He has a lot of grey in him but his face is really white lol it makes him look cute. They gave me his cage and everything in the cage which isnt much. Must of it smells of pee and is old and has holes in it. I plan on making him a brand new cage set right away!!! That they ran out of food last night so he didn't eat last night :( poor little guy. I don't know if it is safe to just drop him old diet today and just go straight to the BML diet? I heard some problems with that like they wont eat. So just for tonight I gave him some apples, carrots and some bananas. Also he is getting a big fat mealworm! His cage is also small, well in my eyes its small. Its a Triple Roof Cage and its 26"x14"x23". Am I right is that to small for him? I have a bigger cage coming but it wont be hear until another 2 weeks. I also need help nameing him. Any ideas of what to name him? Also I am sorry for this being really long lol and I will get pictures up soon I want him to get use to his new home frist.

Yes, it is too small and it looks like it is rusting...not good. I'm so glad you're getting him a new one. Yes, you can switch him to BML right away. He will eat when he's hungry, for sure!

Ok I wanted to make sure I can swich him right away and he will be fine. He is eatting like a little piggy right now lol. He really likes apples and carrots and he loves mealworms. I am still having trouble picking him a name out.

How did you get him so soon? Does this mean you are going to get him a new friend for Christmas. That would be awesome if that worked out so perfectly for you. My mom found him on craigslist and he was like 30min away so my mom said we could go and get him. I am playing on getting him a friend for christmas or a little bit after christmas.

He's so cute! I bet you can't wait to get his new cage, he'll be in heaven with all the room. Start looking at yard sales and second-hand stores for baby and toddler toys to fill it up; and get all your friends to save their soda straws!

He is pretty cute isnt he lol! Yeah I also can't wait to start making his new cage set because as you can see he dosen't really have one. All my friends can't wait to see him I know half of them plan on making him something for christmas even if I just got him lol.

Thank you! I am still having problems with naming him. I am not to sure what to name him. He is shy, sweet, and really quite. He is also ninja lol he likes to hang off his pouch and eat his carrots and apples.

maybe I missed this somewhere in your post(s) but how old is he? The reason I am asking is because I read somewhere that young joeys should not be put in bird cages because the spacing (not enough horizontal cage bars) of the bars are too far apart and they can hurt their hands/paws trying to cling to the bars to keep from falling and sliding down the bars.

They told me that he is year in a half. I am not to sure though I think he might be two years old.

that's great that you took him in, I'm sure he'll be very happy now. I use a cage that size for short travels when we visit the parental units but once we get there they have their own room to run around in, but that cage is definetly too small for living in all the time.

Congrats on your new glider! He is very cute. I couldn't tell from the pic you posted, but you may need to be careful with those sliding doors. I've read where if they're not zip tied that they can easily let themselves out.

Thank you! I was wondering if your suggies had a schedule? Like when they woke up so you know when to feed them, play with them, then pet them back into the cage? Cause Aether was up at really crazy times last night. As soon as he come home he was out playing with me and my brother and eating which was about 8:30pm. Then went back into his pouch and fell asleep at 10pm. I thought it was weird but then I also was thinking he has had a long day so he must be really tired. So I fell asleep at 11:30 and then I was woken up at 2am with him wanting to play non-stop which was cute so I toke him out we played until 3am then my mom told me to go to bed cause I needed the sleep for school today. Well he is still up and running around his cage. It was like he was waiting for me to get up and play. Is there any way I can get him on a schedule so I know when to make his dinner and play with him so its not at random? I like to be able to have his dinner already made and ready to go when it is about time for him to get up. Or will he always get up at random times?

Quite often coming to a new home is so exciting (or scary) that he won't really have a schedule yet. Give him a few days to settle in, and you'll be able to tell what time he likes to get up. Also, gliders will nap on and off all through the night, so that's completely normal.

I try to have the gliders' dinner ready by 5:30 or 6:00. Usually one is awake by then, sometimes two; the third lazy butt sleeps til 9:00 or later but there's always plenty left for him.
