If you have a nail trimmer in the wheel take it out for a few days. JediMasterMatt Glider USA 60 Posts Oh my, how awful. That vet practice should be ashamed of themselves. If I were you, I'd report them to whatever agency in your state regulates them or to the Better Business Bureau for lying about their knowledge of exotics (sugar gliders). It might not make a difference, but it could make YOU feel a little better ;-) sugarmom Joey 32 Posts If you have a little hampster carrier, you could keep it in there for a night or two til his nails feel a little better and hold him when you can just to keep him comfortable... My vet is an hour away but every bit worth driving to see her... she even showed me how to trim their nails and they are very cooperative... I hope your babies are OK. I'm gonna try to take a pic so you can see how awful the job was done :( Goldwinger- That is so kind of you to offer a room to me if i cannot find anywhere here i'll def let you know. Nicole87 Face Hugger MD, USA 650 Posts Dr. Frank at Hunt Valley is who sees my gliders but unfortunately, we didn't find out about him until after our first awful experience when our boys were neutered. He's great though, i definitely recommend him. I know he sees a handful of other gliders but since they all come from a breeder, I'm not positive that they'd be neutered. I can call him for you (or you can) to see if he's done neuters before...I know he's done wellness exams (and he sends the fecals out for more accurate results), a partial tail amputation, and cleared up a severe eye infection for one of our rescues, but I'm not sure about his experience with neuters. Another thing...if you ask him a question that he doesn't know the answer to, he isn't afraid to pull out the books and do some quick research for you. In fact, last time I was there he photocopied all of the information he had on gliders and the vet care they require and gave it to me to use as a reference. But yeah, nice guy and I'm sure you'd have a great experience there. Any other questions, shoot me a PM!
