my granpa died this morning. he has been in a nursing home for a few weeks because he was extremely sick he had a tumor that was bigger than a -football in his stomach. my g-ma was to sick her self to take care of him. but the doctor told us when the tumor explodes it well kill him on the spot no time at all. so it was either the tumor that killed him or he just got tired of fighting it and gave up hes been fighting it for 5 years.

I'm very sorry for your loss. Just know that he doesn't have to fight anymore, and he is no longer in pain! I'm sorry for your family.

yeah thats what i keep telling my self and my g-ma. hes in heaven with his parents and my dad. hes no longer in pain, hes happy. he LOVED majorly LOVED fishing. i told my g-ma i bet thats what he was doing right now fishing. fishin wit a cig in one hand and a glass of tea on the ground beside him and a rod n rell in the other hand with a big smile on his face, its just so hrd growin up i was always with him and my g-ma. i rather stayed wit them then wit my own parents lol. they always had watermelon.

I'm so sorry for your loss. My grandfather died 8 years ago when I was 13. My father has never been in my life and my grandfather was like a father to me. We say him at least 3 times a day and spent most weekends at his house. He also died from a tumor. Well partially. He went to the hospital because his shoulder was hurting him. They sent him home with some advil. He fell in our yard a few days later, bursting a few tumors that the doctors just happened to miss. Those tumors actually indicated bone cancer and he only lasted about 3 months after that. One thing that made me feel soo much better was something that happened at his viewing. My grandfather was notorious for wearing mismatching socks. Not just pattern and color mismatches, but one silk sock and one cotton! Well at his viewing I noticed his socks matched. It killed me. I started crying and threw a huge fit. You know what my mom did? Drove me to his house to get different socks. Then we drove back and made everyone leave the room so we could change his socks. I felt more peaceful after that. I still miss him to this day. I'm not a religious person, but I find the few times I pray.. it's actually to my grandfather. It does get easier.. but you'll always feel him. Again, I'm so sorry for your loss. But consider it an honor that YOU got to be HIS granddaughter. And be proud.

fadedrainbows my grnadfather also complained about his shoulder bothersing him all the time wen they first found the tumor 3 n hlf yrs ago they tried to get him to do surgery but told him his chances were 50/50 he said no i dont want to die right now ill let it be. well he lasted 3 n a hlf more yrs and got tired of fighting it

I understand the pain of loosing a loved family member. We had to 'pull the plug' on my Nanny, who was one of my good friends. She had a double massive stroke and was brain dead but she stuck around a few days after taken off life support. My Poppop also passed away a few years ago from brain cancer. I know in my heart that they are up in Heaven, or whatever it may be called. I can see my Nanny playing cards with all of her old friends, and my Poppop somehow finding a way to grow crops up in the clouds! I am quite positive that Heaven exists, and I can't wait until I am old and can one day visit all of my loved ones one day. I still talk to them, and I think they can answer me in small ways to let me know things are going to be okay. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family!
