I was reading the add's in the paper this morning and I saw an add for a [b]Sugar Glider Shop!/b] At first I was concerned it could be the work of PPP, but on the add it really exagerated the fact that glider's need a lot of love and attention and have very specific diets and before you can buy one, he/she will make sure you really have the time and patience (and money!) for a glider. The add also say's that 90% of the glider's for sale at the store are rescues, and the rest the owner bred his/herself.

I'm sick today, but as soon as I'm better i'm definitely going to go and check it out!

At one point this add was here before, selling the store and everything.

Wait... so someone was selling it? I could see how this makes sense, because the add also said under new management.

It would be very interesting to see what is up with this place, especially now since there is a new owner. Wasn't this the store that was up for auction??

I hadn't seen the post for it before, but here's the address for the store:
9460 S. 700 E. Union Square Plaza, SLC, UT. You can see if you can find the address for the store before.

I really hope it's a good store though, because it's so close to me (about 10 minutes from my house!) and I can finally stop buying them things off the internet! (it's to exspensive to buy them things off the internet...)

That's the place! I hope it doesn't go out of business... The add that just BARELY came say's it's already under new management, though. Could they have lied...?

OMG!! I don't know what the deal is with that place now, but the pic of that glider in the eBay listing is one of the saddest I've ever seen. That baby is SERIOUSLY sick!! I haven't seen anything that bad since some of luckyglider rescue's before and after pics of some of their rescues that came to them in horrific condition. And the pic of the store front makes no sense. It says it's a dog grooming school.

I just drove over there but it was closed... It say's dog grooming because the dog grooming place is next store. The entrance to the glider store is actually upstairs... I tried to look in the window but it was blocked with signs and advertisments.

Did it say when they are open? I would be very curious to see what's what when it comes to this store. It would be a good thing if it's being run by someone who knows what they are doing. Especially if it's true that 90% of the gliders are rescues that were rehabilitated and are being adopted out. Not so great if they are using compromised rescues as breeders in order to supply joeys in mass. But I don't want to make any accusations until there are some hard facts provided.

I think it may be that 90% of the glider's are ones that they bred, and the other 10% are rescues. If you look on the ebay page it say's they have 80 GLIDING PAIRS CURRENTLY BREEDING! (Which I find outrageous!

The number to the store is 801-915-5124, however I'm sure it's no use to anyone who doesn't live in SLC, UT. I just posted it anyways in case someone else does live here...

The ad says they have 80 breeding pairs of sugar gliders. That is a HUGE amount. Doesn't look to good to me.

suggie mom beat me with the breeding number!. They must be turning out a MASSIVE amount of babies.

To be truthful, there are very, VERY few people with glider's in UT! As far as I know, i'm the only one on here that lives in UT, and i've never EVER met anyone in UT with suggies.

My best guess at how many people own suggies in UT, (I have no idea how close to real this is!) is 300 MAX.

The store can't be selling anymore than 2-4 a month... What surprises me is the fact that the stores been open since 1997 and I've never heard of it! I even took dance lessons in the same complex...
