My gliders have a large aviary to get around in and they have never had the need for a wheel. However, our local pet shop mispriced some huge wheels so I bought one to see what would happen. The moment I put the wheel in the aviary, they started jostling for position and began running like they did it every day. None of these gliders had ever seen a wheel in their lives and a couple are over eight years old!

Here is a video with them playing in it first time. I shoot in infrared and the aviary is in total darkness.

Anyway, Kazko posted his slo mo video so I thought I would try this too. Infrared in slo mo is a little dark due to the way it is recorded in buffer and it only records in 12 seconds bursts but it's still cool.. I have better videos of them running but just loved this one because of the glider at the start! You will know why when you see it

The slow-mo looks awesome! Also, how many glider's do you have in your aviary? They're all moving around so fast I can't tell!

Be careful of that wheel. I believe it is the large silent spinner which has two small support wheels on the back that can rip off a tail in a millisecond.

That is SO cool! I too couldn't help but notice the one guy trying to "spin it faster, spin it faster!"!

Isn't that interesting how they were so happy to have a wheel, even after not knowing what one was. Just goes to show you how far you can get, when getting nowhere at all!

Ko! How wonderful!!! I know ours love the wheel; it's fascinating that yours do too. Catman referred to a subscription to your channel; what's that? First I've heard of it.

Not sure which one it is Terry but it has a cover on the back of what you are referring to so possibly it's either a different brand/model or perhaps the standards here required it??? Either way, from when I first checked it out when I bought it,there are no visble open moving parts at the back. However, having said that, I will check it out again and I must admit there are better wheels that I prefer.

21 gliders in that aviary at the moment. We just installed a second wheel to cut down the queues to have a spin !!

awwwwwwww. Youtube doesn't like me that much.

I don't put a lot of videos up though as I shoot in HD and I need to convert them into another format before I can upload, and I'm often too busy/lazy to do so.

You can subscribe to anyone who has a youtube account and you are supposed to be notified when they post a new video but for some reason it didn't.

Looks like they are having fun. I was thinking the same thing about the back Kazko. I bet they upgraded the product because of all the bad rap it was getting.
