Idk about you guys, but hubby & I have acquired certain quirks after bringing Batman home. Like, if we're irritated about something in particular, instead of saying "Boo!" or just grumble, we will say, "Crab, crab, crab, crab, crab!" I call my husband 'Sugardaddy', he calls me 'Sugarmama' and of course we refer to Batman as our 'Sugarbaby'. We'll occasionally break out into song & change the lyrics a little. "Sugar in the morning, sugar in the evening, sugar in the supper time" is changed to "Suggie in the morning, suggie in the evening, etc." Or "Hush little baby don't you say a word, Mama's gonna get you a mealie worm! And if the mealie worm don't taste good, Mama's gonna find you different food!" I suppose for you Def Leppard fans out there, "Pour some Suggie on me" would work. ;) I saw a friend eating an apple & it made me think of Batman. Any similar stories you'd like to share about your Glider Obsessions? :)

My wife thinks im crazy, i also made other songs too but cant remember off top of my head JazzNZoeysmom Zippy Glidershorts USA 5354 Posts Yeah, everything you see now has the thought, "I wonder how I can use that for my babies?" Went to WalMart over the weekend & bought some fruit,...the hubby now says, is that for us or the babies? If he wants some we buy "extra." I bought several coconuts for the first time in my life simply so I can use the shells for toys for my babies. And yes, hubby does the grunt work...cutting and drilling holes. His filling fell out the other day,...he says,"you better hurry up & buy your cage before I have to go to the dentist!" (I did!) My whole family now saves plastic water, soda, & the milk bottle caps so the babies can play with them. They think nothing of the fact that I have crickets & mealworms in my fridge. I posted on FB the other day that I was cleaning glider pee out of my laptop keyboard...one friend said,...Oh gross! My other friend I have that also has a glider just laughed & said, I feel your pain! It's definatly a different world. (But amazing! ) shminsy14 Glider USA 91 Posts Been there, felt that. It really is strange to be a part of this whole different world that no one could really understand unless they were a part of it. Strange, yet wonderful. midnight112x Glider NY, USA 161 Posts yes, people def do not understand. We ahve a nice apartment with beautiful furnishings and smack in the middle of the living room is a tent with toys all in and around it
RChurch Fuzzy Wuzzy USA 1377 Posts And talking to you guys, I feel like I am home. :) Sappiness aside, I mean it. I'm having to explain to my co-workers, friends, fb friends, heck, even strangers ALL the work that entails being owned by a glider. They laugh at first & then they shudder & say, "Oh, that's way too much work for me." But you know what? Batman's got me eating healthier. There is NO way he can eat all that fruit by himself before it goes bad. And that spring mix I mistakenly bought for him, thinking it was okay to use in his BML diet? Guess who's eating salad every night for a week? :D I fix his meal before I get mine. Even though he almost always eats it closer to dawn. I eat in front of the computer so I can do more research about the Do's & Don'ts of caring for a Suggie, so he's healthy & happy & has a well-rounded life. I've lost weight because of him. I don't know how much for certain, but my clothes are loser & I feel more trim. (I know this cuz I'm--sorry for the TMI---PMSing & I feel...thin...!?! What the--?! LOL! Can't complain there.) I love him. He's a lot of work but he deserves it. And when you love loving someone...it doesn't feel like work. It just feels like more love. :) midnight112x Glider NY, USA 161 Posts at the checkout counter in grocery store, a nice elderly woman looks at me and says "Little boy or little girl?" Haha After we had the Joey, Marcus and I started referring to each other as mommy and daddy around the baby and other gliders. And when he buys the stuff for BML the cashiers always ask about his baby. Its so funny when he says its not for a human baby. Breezer Glider MN, USA 73 Posts I sing to my gliders too! "Oh sugar, do do do do do do Oh honey honey, do do do do do do You are my sugar gliders And momma looooves you" nik Joey GA, USA 39 Posts Everytime i go shopping im like isaac would like this and this. I am always in the toys. And more than likely he is n my shirt or his pouch. So im always asking do u like this? Want mommy to get u this? And no one knows i have him so theyre always staring. But i just keep talking. I hve a mini fridge that would only be filled with my drinks. Now its fruits and baby food and maybe three drinks. He comes first with everything. So spoiled NaitoHikari Joey 13 Posts I sorta get 'human-glider separation anxiety' when I go out too long without my babies... It's driving my parents insane when I don't stop talking about them and the little perks they have, like, "Do you know how big they are now? Rosie could fit squarely on my shoulder!" Or, "Robin really likes the Wodent Wheel now (he didn't pay much attention to it before I washed and oiled it), he even sleeps in it!" And stuff like that, until my dad (jokingly) said that they had to spare an hour every day for my suggie-related rants =P Also, I never think that they have enough toys... Every time we go to the supermarket I pop by the toys section, and even visit some other stalls/shops while mom is busy with the groceries... There was this one time I popped by a toy stall and the owner asked me what my bXaby sister would like to have, until I told her that I was looking for something that my squirrel-sized suggiebabies could play with. That got her stumped for a while XD Yep, it's a whole new world alright. XD being owned by a tiny furball of a creature (or two... Or three, or four, or a whole colony) isn't very big on people's list, haha =P Jillyzbean Glider 67 Posts Hottness- I sooooo did the same thing to my fiancée the other night. It was hysterical and makes us feel more connected. PatCC Joey 22 Posts My world now revolves around my gliders. I'm always looking for things to make them happy and I've lost 17 pounds, they have me eating healthier too. I share my fruit and veggies with them. I'm always looking for ideas for making toys and things. I've been hand sewing bags for them but got some great ideas about making no sew toys and bags and stuff for them today by reading the posts on this website. I'm past the age of having children at home so my gliders and my dogs are truly my babies. I'm as excited about joey births as any new mommu. yecats Glider USA 92 Posts I'm glad I'm not the only person crazy about the lil guys! I've made some songs about my baby too like "this little light of mine" is now "this little suggie of mine, I'm gonna let him climb" We have some braided fleece going from the top of the cage all the way to the bottom and he'll race to the top and hang on with one arm and one leg like he's on look out. I also call him my sugarbaby <3
