This is the boy's PVC cage AKA Suggie Palace. me and dad built and design the cage over a year ago. it still needs a stand and tray lol. there are also other things i might change as well. i needed a huge cage for them since we were going on vacation for 2 weeks and they would not be getting any out of cage time.
the bottom of the cage is removable for easy cleaning. you need a hand held steamer when you clean a pvc cage. it makes it so much easier. their cage is also to big to fit through my door lol. there are also PVC branches that the boys love to play on. all their toys came from yard sales or thrift stores. vash just loves to sit in his castle tower and look out the window or have his legs sticking out while he grooms. the green cage set is from viciousencounters. its my first real full cage set and the boys love it. in the pictures they are in their cube sleeping, you can see where the cube is sagging down from their weight lol. the boys thank you VE for the wonderful cage set!!!
http://s389.photobucket.com/albums/oo337/wlo_addict/PVC%20Cage/ click this to see pictures of the PVC cage being built. it cost around $200 to make.
http://www.sugarglider.com/glidergossip/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=31871 i posted the pvc cage after i first made it and its amazing how a good cage set makes it look better.

Wow, love the cage and what you've done with it!!!! Thanks for sharing the photos and descriptions, you and your father did a real fine job, and you furnished it very very well with the cage set and many toys & the pvc branches look like an excellent idea. I really also love the castle, if my girls cage were bigger, I'd want one for them (maybe someday), I think it would be fitting for them. Your gliders are so very lucky!!!

Wow, that is awesome! What are the dimensions of the cage? I would love to make one like that and I am sure it would be cheaper than buying an indoor aviary lol.

Job well done!

thanks for all the nice comments on their cage. ^_^
the dimensions are 6'5"x5'3"x2'5"
i answered a question about the cage so ill post it here as well in case anyone else wants to know.
here are some of the links i used while designing the cage. http://www.sugarglider.com/journal/AUtigers350z/How_To_Sugar_Glider_PVC_Cage_602.asp we mainly used this one for the list. i also used some of catman's pictures as inspiration for the inside structure http://www.sugarglider.com/glidergossip/photo_album_view.asp?mid=3767&cid=469&page=8 as well as some of these http://www.sugarglider.com/journal/Otaku/PVC_cage_references_on_the_forum_and_elsewhere_339.asp the doors are a bit tricky since you have to make sure it doesnt leave any room they could get out of. the middle pipe has pvc wrapped around it to block any space for them to get out.
the cage floor is removable. they are two separate squares. i just take them out and steam clean them in the tub. maybe later i can take some more close up pictures of different things in the cage. if there is anything you want a better picture of just say so. i would be happy to help. http://s389.photobucket.com/albums/oo337/wlo_addict/PVC%20Cage/ if you look here you can see how the cage looked as we built it.
dont remember what brand the PVC mesh is we got it at like home depot.
Yes VE makes the nicest stuff and was nice enough to put up with me when i wasnt sure how big i needed their cage set to be since i needed an over sized cage set lol. XD

i cant imagine ever going back to a normal size cage. it was worth giving up my shelves and having to put my wiccan chest in front of my book shelf since there is no where else to put it. i also have found less food on my walls and doors. i cant use a cage cover because i wouldnt be able to see them on the shelf behind the cage. would love to see it whenever you do make it.

well it took as weeks to finish it but that was because i had to wait for dad to have time to help with it and he is usually busy with his 2 jobs but im sure this can be done in a weekend if you work a lot on it. then it took us like over a half a year to finally have time to put proper locks on it and fix one of the doors that was sagging and was being held up with a zip tie lol. it probably happened when we had to unscrew a few things to squeeze it through the door. it was just a bit to big >.<
