Today i found pekin passed away on her nest. not sure what happen. i have had her for many years and this was her first year with a real mate. willow lost his mate last year and this year pekin took her place. but before that she took care of herself not letting any duck push her around. she will be buried right next to my very first duck silly-willy (the 1st).

That's terrible...I am sorry that she passed away.

That's sad, sorry it happened. Do the neighbors use pesticides or poisons?

i dont know but her nest isnt by any yards. found an old picture that kinda shows that area of the lake. and she had been sitting on her nest for awhile now and was doing good about not leaving the nest to long so she didnt have much time to be exposed to stuff from people's yards where as my other ducks wonder around. the thing that bothers me is that it doesnt appear to be done by an animal since it didnt take her...and stuff...



she is buried now and we made her a little wooden cross. was looking through pictures of her and i found one from 09 so she is about 4 years old could be older.
