I have a lovely little mosaic female whose parents were owned by a gentleman who was transferred to Hawaii and had to leave his pets behind.
He didn't leave any information with the new owner about their lineage. He said they came from Florida and the owner's name was George Mills.
By some miracle, do any of you recall selling an expensive pair of mosaic gliders to such a person? They were reportedly $2000 (each or as a pair not sure).
If not, any help - a list of breeders in Florida, anything at all, would be appreciated.
I couldn't find a George Mills in the USDA database so he's probably a small breeder. I don't know if that helps, but it covers one area of searching at least.
No, I have the 4 month old baby from "the parents" and didn't know there was such a thing as lineage until after I brought my gliders home and figured out Pocket Pet literature was FULL OF IT and started reading about them. My first 3 were rescues (from a breeder who I later found out tossed them in a cage when they came out standard and nobody bought them). After reading about lineage and inbreeding I decided to ask about the origins of mine, the first guy did tell me my first 3 have Leucistic parents but then stopped talking to me completely. I asked the guy I bought the 4 month old from about her parents and he told me he got them from a neighbor who moved to Hawaii (George Mills). The neighbor tried to sell them and ran out of time, so they got handed off to this guy who didn't know anything about them. So I was trying to find out who she is. All are female so I guess it doesn't matter but I was curious.
