Hi all I have a female suggie that I basically rescued even though I had to pay for her. When I took her to the vet for a full check up and to clean her and clip her nails - she was housed outside in very dirty cage and conditions, my vet discovered a baby in the pouch.
My concerns are this: She is all on her own with no Daddy to babysit which I don't mind doing, however, she is wild, she is not tame as she was used for breeding. I am keeping her from my other suggies so as not to stress her out.
She means so much to me and I want to do what is best for her. She hardly eats which concerns me. I am trying all sorts of different fresh fruit and veggies which my other suggies gobble up. I also have her on HPW Complete which my other suggies love too. I mix that with Glider Aid and she drank most of it last night.
I cannot see the baby growing as she runs round the cage quite a lot when I go to talk to her.
Please has anyone got some advice for me that may assist me to give this beautiful girl all she needs. She is so precious and I just want her to be in a happy place. I have decorated her cage with a new cage set and toys etc but it is so sad she does not even know how to play - breaks my heart. I put some treasure chests for her to open in her cage and she just threw them on the floor. I want to cry. She won't eat crickets or meal worms but I have noticed if I put yoghurt drops in a forager she will slowly eat all of them up.
I would be so greatful if people could be able to give me some sound advice. Thanking you in advance.

I am so sorry to hear about this. I have bought one like this before. She had a missing tail and was so brown, dirty, and smelly. She was in the same situation and was malnourished. She bonded to me almost instantly, like she really wanted some attention. She is healthy now. Before she wouldn't eat, so I'd give her eggs with honey on them. A lot of sugar gliders can't resist licking honey. It took her a while to adjust to everything. She still prefers running in her wheel over playing with toys.
You could try bonding with her during the day while she is sleepy by letting her sleep on you and giving her a piece of chicken. I think that's another thing they find irresistible, and licks of yogurt.

I don't want to be a downer here but I do want to forewarn you that, even though she was a breeder and has had joeys before, the stress of the move and being separated from her colony can cause her to lose the joey or to reject it. You could do everything right...I mean EVERYTHING...and still lose the joey. Now, after being that killjoy I'll say that you have a better chance than most to NOT lose the joey because she has had joeys before. Just up her protein some by giving her some scrambled or hard boiled egg, yogurt or plain boiled chicken a few times a week. Good luck!

I would love to put her in a bonding pouch but am scared to stress her out, do you think it would be safe to do this and also not sure she would like being trapped in the pouch. She is wild so am scared she jumps out and I don't want to have to run around trying to catch her because that would be disasterous.
I did try give her boiled egg but she did not eat it, mmm maybe will definitely try that tonight with some honey - thank you so much for that piece of advice. I also tried the chicken she did not even touch it and the yoghurt she just had a few licks, I suppose that is better than nothing.
Thanks will try that and let you know.

You would never by a killjoy I appreciate your concern and advice and I totally agree with you.
Have tried the boiled egg and the chicken and she did not touch it but like GliderLove94 said I should try to put some honey on it. I know for a fact that she loves honey so will definitely give it a go tonight. The yoghurt I also tried, but she did not eat much, will try again and see what happens. She is very good and drinks most of her HPW Complete which is good for her but just worried she is not eating much of anything else. Last night I put some broccoli and some avo out and put some crickets on the top and she did eat a little including the crickets so I was quite happy.
Thanks will try the boiled egg and yoghurt tonite and let you both know.
Thanks for the advice.

Well, if you think she is too wild for a pouch, you could try letting her play in a bathroom or tent at night with you in there and offer treats. You might have to do it a few times for her to warm up to you. I have also had a wild one. She had to have a HUGE pouch for me to bond with her in. She would sleep, sometimes crab if I moved, then continue to sleep.
She may not be used to those certain foods, so you might have to keep slowly introducing them so she will get used to them and maybe will start eating them. I have picky eaters, so when I want them to eat their veggies, I put honey on them. They pick it up to lick the honey off and end up eating it. If she's new she might just need some time to adjust before she feels comfortable enough to eat.
