My sister had woke me up to go to Church and i heard a sort of fluttering sound by my mothers chair and I first i did not think anything of it. so i got my clothes . Then walked to her cage and notice it was wide open then i panicked and grabbed her pouch and walked over to see if it was her. And to my suspicion baby was under her chair . And when i approached her she was scared and ran out then went back in and after ten minutes of trying to coaxed her in it i got her a meal worm and put it near here pouch and she FINALLY Got in her pouch . She must have been tired for her adventure around the house im so relived shes okay. Has anyone else had this Happen ?

I'm glad you got baby back. I've had one escape but not like that.

IO hadn't pushed the grate on the bottom of the cage all the way back and the drop pan wasn't pushed back either so he escaped. Scariest 30 minutes of my life. I had a thread about it like two months ago. Long story short, I found him running along the curtains in my room like everything was fine. What kind of cage do you have? What do the locks look like? Can he open them himself? They are amazingly smart little creatures, don't put anything past them. They can lift latches. But it takes time to figure out how to slide the latch over to open it.

Yep....that is one of the reasons I stress a strong bond so much and limiting their out of cage time to a certain few areas.
I think it helps a lot....Zoey has gotten out a few times but she always comes looking for me. They will also seek out a familiar place,....which can help you locate them. If they are only familiar with their cage and a certain area for playtime, odds are that's where they'll go.

Never had one escape out of the cage but I pulled their pouch out of the cage and sat it on the coffee table in the living room. I told my fiance to watch them while I was getting something out of the kitchen. She turned her back for a literally a second or two and in that time one of the babies crawled out, jumped off the table and disappeared. We looked for over an hour at no avail so we got a bunch of dishes and put a few mealies in each one and spread them out all over the house (we took inventory of how many were in each dish so we would know if she ate some, what area shes in) and turned out ALL the lights in the house and we just had flashlights. We also turned everything off so we would be able to hear her. After about another hour I heard something by the x box and I shined the light on it and the baby was trying to eat the plastic wrap off one of the games. It scared us to death, just the thought of her running around the house by herself. Needless to say we were overjoyed when we found her and covered her with kisses.

Her bonding area is the bathroom down stairs which was where she was but the door was shut .
