I handled my Cleo all throughout her pregnancy/IP period and handled her and Joey after he came OOP. I got her as a 10week old baby so she was completely tame and use to me. Dad was tame as well.

Continue to handle her as you normally would. It's important to keep her routine the same to keep her stress level down. If you handled her before, keep doing so now in the same fashion. If she hates to be held and fights with you, leave her be.

I have a question. I have a trio and I am pretty sure one of the females is pregnant again. I have had the three of them since they were about approx. 4wks old. During the first pregnancy I handled them all of the time. Now dad bites me if I stick my hand in the pouch unless I have food. He is very protective of his girls. I like to sit and pet them while they are all sleeping. But lately I have had to take dad out in a separate pouch. Is this normal? Some times it is a friendly leave me alone bite, and other times it kind of hurts. Any ideas of how to handle all three at the same time? I don't like to separate them. They don't seem to mind though.
The first pregnancy ended up with a little boy. He is so adorable I got him a friend and they love each other very much. Is it normal that mom and dad don't like the son anymore? After being in separate cages, but right next to each other.

If their not neutered they will fight with each other through the bars mine did that until they got neutered. Dad is still very dominant and I've tried introducing new males to the colony but he always starts a fight!!

my sweet dad will bite when his joeys are small, after they are a few weeks old, he is no longer as protective. give him a little more time, or continue putting him in another pouch while you pet the babies. he is just doing his job, he is a good dad!

thanks,
he is nipping at me to stay out of the pouch with both of my older girls (sisters). The babies have not come out yet. He is a protective dad. And I will be patient. Can't wait to see the joey(s). :)
