As some of you may know, one of my rescue boys has passed away yesterday due to an infection, leaving his six year old, twin brother alone for the first time ever. He is beyond upset. He barely eats, barely sleeps and when he's not in my hoodie, he just sits in the bottom of his cage, staring off into space.
I live in Portland, ME, and I'm looking for a friend or two for him, male (neutered) or female, young or old. He has basically no teeth left (still has the front two bottom, but they are scheduled to be removed) due to a severe case of peridontal disease and he's absolutely the sweetest glider and the first to make glider friends, so even a baby would work for him. He is literally so submissive I have to syringe feed him a pureed version of their dinner because he would rather starve than cause tension over food. This also means I do not want him in with an unfixed male or a male/female group where the boy is possessive of his girl.
I don't have a lot of money to spare right now. What I'd saved up for a second breeding pair went to his brother's vet bills, but I can provide an excellent home. We feed a slightly modified version of Darcy's diet (protein blended in instead of on the side because Koda can't even chew scrambled eggs) and everyone is very healthy on it. The new baby/babies would get to live in a 4' tall by 4' wide by 3' deep cage with lots of toys and room to glide. All of my gliders get daily attention be it through playtime or just snuggling up in my sweatshirt for a few hours after a mealie session (yes, I hand squeeze them for him).
This guy is my baby. I know we're not supposed to pick favorites, but I can't help it. He's so special and I can't bear to see him this way. It's breaking my heart. If anyone could help I'd greatly appreciate it.
