I have a colony of 4 suggies, 3 females and 1 neutered male. My oldest female (about 4 years old) was dragging one of her back legs, so I brought her into a local vet who deals with minor SG issues (bites, wounds, neuters). He did an xray and found that her back leg is broken in 2 places. At his suggestion, we have since changed her to a diet higher in calcium and separated her from the others in a rubbermaid container to keep her from moving and jumping around too much. The first couple days, she kept trying to jump out of the container and I think she managed to injure herself further. We try to take her out and hold her for most of the day so she doesn't get lonely, but every time we have gotten her out lately, she is soaking wet and smells really bad (of urine?) She seems to be moving somewhat spastically (that's the best way I can think of to describe it). I have not been able to find a vet nearby who is particularly comfortable dealing with serious issues in these guys (I'm in East Central Alabama). If anyone has any suggestions on what to do to help her or who I can call and talk to or bring her to see, my hubby and I are grasping at straws trying to keep her happy and helping her to heal. She is our baby and the sweetest of our suggies, and it's killing me watching her steadily decline. :-( TIA!

There is a list of vets who will consult with yours somewhere on here but I can't find it! Hopefully someone will jump in here and provide the information to you. I certainly wish you the best with your little one. It is heart wrenching to not be able to help them!
