I have heard them do this.
they bark like always... (then like something is caught in there throat) they squeak (like they might be in pain...)

thoughts... it just sounds odd. I am not worried from a medical stand point just wondering if anyone has heard this

I would say that a bark-squeak is not pain or anything to worry about. Pain seems to be demonstrated when grunting. Here is Sounds: Grunting in the Gliderpedia.
