I was wondering if anyone travels with there Gliders i have two boys Zeke and Fargo. My wife and i plan on going to my familys campground alot this summer and i was wondering if we should just take them with us or is there somthing i could do that they would be ok for two nights? and if we travel with them what is the best aproch for this? right now they are in a very larg cage but i do have a smaller one that is somewhat easy to bring with us, or i have seen these large travel cages/pens for dogs that are all closed off with zippers and mesh. I am just looking for some good ideas from people that have done somthing similer. Oh and as of camping we would not be in a tent it would be a camper so they wouldnt be out side lol. Thanx

I would love to hear the responses on this one as I am in a similar situation. Surely there are glider loving camping people out there!

If the weather will be decent enough for them, I take them with me. My man & I have a very large multi room tent, and we use one "room" of it just for the glider cages. Another room is used for the dog & cat, and one room for us.

Before we had this tent, we just used a small child size pop up tent for each animal or cage, but none of the animals have ever stayed home or with anyone else.

As long as the don't get too cold or too hot then i dont see a problem with it. That 3 room tent sounds like a GREAT idea! Will have to try it this summer.

Predators, parasites, chance of losing your glider in the woods, heat exhaustion, freezing to death, rotting/bad food due to refrigeration issues... Seems like a great idea to take your glider camping.

Okay, snarkiness aside- it's not a good idea for a lot of reasons. Aside from the obvious you also have the immense amount of stress it causes your gliders. New smells/sounds can stress them out massively, especially if there are predators in the area. Stress can cause your glider to become ill or even die. Why take that risk?

Get a friend to come swap out food bowls every night while you're away, its way less stressful for you and your gliders, and allows you to enjoy your trip without worrying about your gliders!

Since you are going in a camper I don't see any issue with it. I am assuming you would keep them in a cage in the camper and not let them have free roam of it-that might lead to lost gliders, or gliders getting out of the camper completely.

Again I am assuming that you camp in places where there are hook ups so that you would have AC (for yourselves and your pets) and refrigeration.

Really, how different would it be from them being in a cage in your living room?

Now if you aren't going to be hooked up, and there would be dangers of not having electricity, I wouldn't risk it.

Keep us posted. I travel a lot during the summer and am playing with the idea of taking my gliders too. I don't have a camper though, I do a lot of tent-camping and crashing at family's houses.

We just drove two hours in the car with our gliders to come visit our parents. One was in a bonding pouch, and the other in a travel cage. I reall think that if you have a camper they will be fine. They usually have ac/heat. A camper just like a tiny house. You should be fine.
