So, as many of you know, a member of the glider community and my dear friend Wendi Cross Harvey had a house fire last night. Her family and animals all got out safely but she has suffered much loss and will not be able to get back into her home for several months. She is distraught and has not been able to tell anyone what she needs at this point but I feel like I should do something to help her.

I feel very lost at this point but I want to do something. Maybe a mystery box auction or something to help collect funds and donations to help them through this difficult time. I would be more than willing to organize something. I know we are a loving and wonderful community that has great potential to help a friend in need. Does anyone have any ideas that we may be able to work on? This is primarily on FB I cant think of her screen name at the moment.

Damn that is really bad, I have had a couple of friends who lost their homes to fires. I am glad that she and her animals got out safely though, why not see if folks who make toys and jewelry in the community would be will to donate something that could be sold on Ebay then donate the money to Wendi's family and her furbabies. I am sure a few crafters wouldn't mind doing something like that.

God Bless Wendi and her family. All of them. I will pray for a quick return to normal.

I lost everything in a house fire two years ago. If you need me to do anything let me know. I will semd some supplies her way.

Donation on the way! So terribly sorry for her situation. Things like this make you pause and give thanks for how fortunate we are!

Thank You all so much. She has 3 cages. 1 cage has 2 gliders, 1 cage has 3 gliders, and the last cage has 5 gliders. I have asked David Watkins for wheels. She really needs gift cards, and monetary donations too so she can get what she needs when she needs it.. I have said it before and I will say it again ....................Glider People ROCK!

Prayers on the way! Have bookmarked her address so I can send something(gift card) soon. I am not able to do so until next payday. My sister finally got her liver transplant( she has had cancer 4 years) on Friday so have spent a lot of money on eating, etc at the hospital. I hope all goes well for Wendi- I am a Wendy too! So, gift card from Walmart- would that help or if you think of another place let me know!

You could probably make some braided ropes to hang in the cage. Just cut three (or more - in multiples of 3) long fleece strips, tie at the top and braid them like you would hair. Tie off at bottom, attach with a c link or quick lock and you've got a fleece hanging toy!

Just bumping this up since the fund seems to have plateaued...
