Have you guys had good results? Is there a secret way to do this? Sadly i cant see how to do this unless i buy it... So i dont really know what to do...what do you do with the pouch? (bottom photo - glidernursery.webs.com/accessories.htm

I have been taking my kids to their vet to have their nails did and i am taking a big step in deciding that maybe it is best if i learn to do it. And not have to drive an hour and pay for it.

I personally never wanted to do this because when i see them getting it done they cry so much and i just cant hold them and do it while they look up at my crying. I am a total sap. I feel like i am hurting my babies.

So yea...any reviews about this item, tips, hints, whatever it may be, thanks in advance !

The pouch is just a safe way to restrain them without either of you getting hurt. You just place them in the pouch and gently pull out each foot, keeping their head secured inside the fleece. Being held securely in the dark also alleviates some of the stress on the gliders. This a completely humane method and can keep you from getting nipped if your baby objects.

Another way to go is to try offering them a favorite treat to distract them while you work on each hand. Most of my gliders do well with the distraction method, but I have one or two that are just too wiggly and need to be placed in the pouch.

Once you get them used to regular nail trimming, they should be much more relaxed about it. As long as you are not quicking them, it IS NOT painful. I would also imagine that it's less stressful for you to do it than to take them to a strange place with strange smells and whatnot and have them do it at the vet.

I don't know where I it is posted but I was able to watch it somewhere online without purchasing it. Shhhhh.

But my suggestion would be to trim their nails while they are sleeping or still groggy. They will just lay in their pouch and you can gently pull one leg out at a time and snip with baby nail clippers. They may try to pull their foot back in but that is not from pain, its just to cuddle up more in their sleep
