It looks really nice and big, but I don't see a way to hang toys or pouches from the top so that might be something to consider.

You could stretch hardware cloth across the top and zip tie it or you could braid fleece to make ropes to hang across the top to hang toys from.

Keep in mind the room you plan to put the cage in. It is 36 inches at its narrowest point and will NOT fit through many standard interior door ways.

If you plan to keep the cage in a bedroom, it will need to be assembled in the room and you will not be able to wheel it outside for a good hose down cleaning now and then.

Skeeter- I had the same idea.

Candy- the room where they stay has wide doorways. Our only problem would be getting it into the house.

You would also have to take it apart then to get it in and out of the house for deep-cleaning. I had a hexagonal cage like that one for a while and I ended up selling it and getting a rectangular one instead that is easier to manage. It was waaaay too much of a pain to clean. I suppose if you had one of the corner aviary type cages with the close to full size doors it would be different, but I was just never able to get it clean satisfactorily for my taste.

You have a point tigerlily. I do think I have a door big enough to get it out. How many would it house?

It looks a very similar size to the one I had, which would be big enough for 6-7 ish pretty comfortably. The other thing I just noticed though is that it has the 2 drop pans that are separated by a center bar. That bar was HORRIBLE for collecting gunk and also a pain to clean. For about the same cost, you could end up building yourself a PVC cage to your own specifications that may save you some grief in the long run.

I believe you tiger lily, but I don't know if I have the time and resources to build a PVC cage. Maybe I could calc the try separation? Don't know if that would work though.

I'm sure there is something you can do to it to make it more manageable. Don't get me wrong, the gliders loved it, it just made me miserable trying to clean it for them. I also have way more cages to deal with on a daily basis than you do I think, so it may not be as bad for your situation. I did find plenty of ways to hang things in it, so that wasn't an issue, but only having doors on the two sides made it tough to get to the inside of the opposite end. If you're handy though, you may be able to cut some other side doors in as well though.

Calking the separation between the cage pans would make it impossible to remove them for cleaning.

No, there's like a joint between where the two pans slide in. It makes a very small gap where the two metal halves connect. If he's talking about smoothing that out somehow, that would be a good idea. I always had to pull the thing out and run q-tips down the seam to get the junk out.

I have that issue with my cages that I connected...the gliders like to sit there and eat(pee...lol)so stuff does get in there. I took tooth picksto what I could reach and I flushed hot vinegar/water mix thru it and it worked great.
