ok so i have personally witnessed the babies out of the pouch, and i have heard them cry a couple of times, so i know they can disconnect from the mother at this point, but she hasnt actually left them yet, she is still stuffing them back in barely when she leaves to go eat, so i havent got to get them to weigh them just yet. i am so worried...overworried probably....i just want to try to do everything i can to make sure these babies survive. i dont want them to become dehydrated. she IS taking care of them though, they stay on her and the daddy cleans them on her tummy. should i just wait till she cant stuff them in to take them and weigh them? or try to get them tonight to weigh them?

I don't know if I'm classified as experienced enough for ya haha but my trixi just had a little one on Sunday and it took her about 3 days before I could catch her out of the sleeping pouch WITHOUT baby. So I'd just give it time. You obviously can't try to forcefully take baby away from momma. I HATED waiting. But lots of people told me that it was the best thing to do.

I'm sorry but why do you need to weigh them? I will go back and look at your older posts. It sounds like they are taking good care of them.

the last baby became dehydrated the 2nd day and died VERY quickly, so i want to make sure they are gaining grams or i need to supplement feed them. they seem to be very good parents though, they take care of them very well, and didnt attempt to eat the baby once he was dead, they were still cradling him and licking him :(

Sounds like they are being good parents, just leave them be. DO NOT take them away from her if they are attached to a nipple, just wait, you will do much more harm than good.

She wants to weigh them to make sure they're the appropriate weight which I understand that. It's scary, especially if its your first sugar baby. It was mine. We waited and everything turned out great. I'm sorry for your loss though :(

Going back I can see your concern for them, but I would not pick them up just yet. I would suggest keeping a watchful eye on them though.
