Hi guys,

It's been quite a while since I posted. We just moved to a new apartment, and Buzz and Jessie have decided that they need to bark all night long. We've never had this problem in the past. We might get a few yips at night here and there but now it's non-stop. Any suggestions to calm them down? I'm worried that our neighbors might complain. Thanks.

Sara

They are probably just getting used to the new place.

You might try giving them a night light,my gliders bark all night if we leave them in complete darkness. You might also check to see if the wheel is spinning properly, and make sure you put all of their toys and stuff back in the cage. (When we were moving we left some things out, and our male was not having it, once we reintroduced the items he calmed down.

They might also be hearing sounds from outside or perhaps even your neighbors if the walls are thin.

My glider bark when my sprinklers come on out side their window. The also bark when my son gets up in the early morning hours to go to work. (That varys from 2 to 6 am) They seem to be alerted by sudden sounds that happen around them.

i came home last week and all 3 cages were barking and going crazy. turns out a feral cat and her kittens were moved in under my apartment. when the family is moving about (i guess, cos I certainly can't hear them) there is still a lot of barking.
Now to catch and rehome the cat family

This is way to adorable! Barking at sprinklers and at a cat. I love it.

Mine bark at each other sometimes or if I take in a foster glider . I think they like to tell the newbie who is boss even if they are not in the same room.

My Morticia barks randomly if she decided she didn't get enough meal worms or meat and will just stare you down and bark non-stop until you give her some. (This is at all hours of the night.)

Thanks everyone! After a week of not sleeping, we decided to take everyone's advice. We put all of their toys in the cage with eucalyptus and yoggies, plugged in a nightlight, and even played some soft jazz. No BARKING! HALLELUJAH!!!! SLEEP!!!
