Hi. I am looking for a bigger cage. I have a small budget and a small house. Do you recommend any specific cages? I also was wondering about something I read. Do cages have to have all horizontal wiring? I heard they can't grab vertical wiring. Is this a myth? Every cage I've seen so far seems to have vertical.

We found both of our cages on craigslist. The powder coated kind are the highest quality and safest. We found two very large cages for great prices and bought them; both have only vertical bars. It is a bit of a disadvantage, but they can climb on them. Horizontal is BETTER, but most cages have vertical bars. Exoticnutrition.com has good cages; I've heard many recommendations about the Madagascar cage, but it'll run you about $200 with shipping.

I have copied the response I gave in your first cage thread:

Most ferret cages do not have 1/2 inch bar spacing. Vertical bars are fine. Gliders have no problem climbing them.

If the cage you are looking at is this one:

Then NO it is not a safe cage for sugar gliders. The bar spacing is too wide and sugar gliders would just walk right through the bars.
