Now that it's a more reasonable hour and I've had some coffee intake I'd like to explain where I was coming from.
If you work with rescues and rehomes I'm sure you see your fair share of flippers and opportunists. It's no different in the glider community if anything we see it more often because we are focused on one animal rather than the whole spectrum of animals that larger rescues deal with.
We see a brand new member joined the site the day before, ask one question about what color variation the glider is, we assume so they can figure out current market value for that kind of glider. Then the first person that responds is told it's also up for adoption.
The scenario is quite common and those of us that deal with rescues rehomes and or surrenders are very skeptical of people and these scenarios. Our first thought is opportunist, and if the phrase "surrendered to me but hes up for adoption" is used it screams flipper to us.
Of course sometimes we are ( I am ) mistaken, I have met other rescuers and rehabers on here that are legit, they are far a few between though. The last one I met was Claudia she has an awesome rescue and rehab center in Washington state. I'm not sure if she still actively reads on this forum I pulled her over to the educational based groups on facebook.
I did look into the two rescue places you mentioned, the Heidi's Legacy is about 20 minutes away from me, I don't have other pets aside from gliders but I do know a Mom and daughter that are very avid Dog people with years of experience with shepards and shepard breeding that love to donate and help dogs in need so I will definately be sending them the info, they also happen to live right in Lithia.
Any way, If it seemed I was a bit harsh I apologize and I appreciate you not taking it as a personal attack and keeping your replies civil. Sometimes, replies are not that civil
Now my question to you is, are you going to continue taking in gliders ? Or was this just a one time thing? If you might continue to foster and adopt out there are some questions I'd like to ask. I also like to keep track of potential fosterers in different parts of fla for future reference.
I am not personally able to foster, so I found other avenues that I can help with. I have 3 cages that consist of 9 gliders I'm at my limit as far as space for more cages goes.
What I AM able to do, is mentor new owners, find educated glider owners that are looking for more gliders, organize railroads for transport, in some cases I can get help for medical care, donated safe items for a glider in need ( cages, cage sets pouches toys water bottles ect.) Help find glider experienced vets nation wide. I also have had locals come to my house to learn how to do nail trimmings, make diets, make glider safe toys etc...
As I said before I have a huge amount of glider resources and an awesome network of veteran glider owners I work with. We have one group of people who does everything anonymously that is an outreach group. When we see a glider in need, we reach out to the owner and do what ever we can to help fill that need, some are extreme cases some are not.
Last year we also had our first Fla glider gathering here in Dover, we had about 80 people for an educational based get together. Most of the people were fla residents but the speakers and vendors came from other states. We will be hosting the gathering again this year in September. The group link is below, if you'd like to join there are some awesome local owners in there.

Lastly, the intact male you currently have... is he lineaged? will he be neutered before adopting out??
