Hi, I'm a little worried. My gliders' urine usually smells, well, normal. Not too pungent. Never been a problem. Last night, I gave the two of them 1/4 of a hard boiled egg (fresh) and now it smells very strong. And different. Their cage this morning smelled AWFUL. This was the first time I gave them anything like that. Is this normal? Thanks.

Yes it is normal. Protein can cause them to smell stronger. It should pass after a few days.

What kind of protein do you normally feed them?

I give my gliders chicken and eggs. Sometimes turkey. I follow the amounts in the recipe for their food which is tpg diet. I give them mealies about 3 to 4 times a week. About 10 each. I don't give them the protein separate from their staple diet. I havent noticed any strong odors. :)

It's just the sulphite from the egg.
