Hi everyone!
I've had my bonded pair of boys for about almost 7 years. Sadly one of my babies died last week (antibiotic resistant infection) leaving one alone. I got my boys when they were joeys. I'm looking to adopt another partner for my boy around the same age or find a rescue that'd be willing to integrate him into their colony (not ideal for me but I want what's best for him).
My question is if I can find another friend (or friends as someone recommended to me) for him, what's the best way to introduce them? Cages next to each other and alternate the pouches we hold them in (so each baby is surrounded in the other's scent)? I just want to make sure it's as seamless a transition as possible.

My remaining boy is about 7 years old, neutered, and a classic gray. He didn't exhibit signs of food aggression or had any issues with his former bestie.

Thanks!
