I had three gliders; one has passed on recently and the other two are still living. All three are half siblings to each other and the one that passed, she was 3 years old and it was due to underlying condition with bone disease and it shifted her bones to lay on her digestive organs to where she couldn't urinate or deficate. The vet had to sadly put her down after telling me there was nothing he could do since she was in stage 3 of the condition. Her name was Seiya and she was my Seiyaboo; my first sugar glider ever and for 3 years, she has made me the happiest suggie mum ever and she knew it too! At first, she was a devil bear that didn't want to bond or spend time with anyone but, she turned a new leaf when she got in trouble with me for the last time of biting my hand to where it bled and I remember yelling at her face of what a ungrateful bear she was and my patience with her was so great till that moment
! She hid away from me for three days and only came out to eat, drink and do her bathroom business. After that, she came out and tried to bond with me and spend time with me as a new calm, patient bear to where she was dubbed a angel bear ever since. She never bit again; she nipped but only softly to say it was her snacky snack time, barked when she wanted me and cuddled me when I was happy, sad, or stressed. She was my go to bear for everything as she was there with me always through it all. I miss her so much and I know that she isn't suffering anymore with her underlying condition. She is with me and her half siblings always with her tiny urn nearby <3
As for Seiya's half siblings, they are a handful and a half like two peas in a pod that have bonded with me and my hubs lolol they are each 3 years old too. Mika is a feisty girl that lives and breathes for adventure to where we call her adventure bear for her wanting to explore the house every day. Even though she's seen it a million times, she ventures forth like it's a brand new adventure. Riku is what we call the reclusive bear as he doesn't like adventure and wants to hide all the time. He is a shoulder bear but prefers to hide in my hair from everything cause he is so reclusive
Mika is currently having a very foul odor coming from her urine or stool so I've been trying to see if it is a UTI by giving her diluted cranberry water and been fearful of taking her to the vet as I am afraid to relive what happened to Seiya. If it comes down to it, I'll take Mika to the vet but, to lose not just one but two bears, it would shatter me as these wee bears have become family to my family and as the vet said to me about Seiya, they came from a very loved home for the last few years as he could tell Seiya was very close to me and otherwise, was very healthy in her other extremities. He figured the other two bears were of similar traits as well.
