Poll Question: Pick one, and if so inclined, discuss below. For anyone not familiar with the concept of a gift exchange, it is sometimes known as a Secret Santa. Everyone's names are put into a hat and everyone gets one name that they send a gift to. The name picked is generally kept a secret until the recipient gets a gift. As a disclaimer, neither this site, me, or its owner, endorses or is responsible for anything that may happen as a consequence of gift exchanges. Some people don't always send a gift, and this is not something that we can control. Choices: The gift exchange should be discontinued. The person running the gift exchange should be rotated between tootles and facehugs. Facehugs started the gift exchange here, so she should be the one in charge. Facehugs has dropped the ball and after 3 rounds of gift exchange Tootles should be the one to continue. On a rotating basis, people should be nominated and we should vote on which of the nominees runs the gift exchange for that round. Other, please specify below. Who Can Vote? Only Members can vote. You need to register or be logged in to vote.

I personally think it should be between Facehugs and tootles on which one is going to do it and when.. I dont think we should have to pick.. we should just be told when. I would love to do it!! I have never done it before and have heard of it. So who ever does it.... please let me know :)

They both seem to want to do it real bad, possibly for the same reasons, so why favor one? just share it! it wouldnt be too hard to email each other the list. or do it together.

I think they could both SHARE in doing it.. this was my first exchange.. and I LOVED it.

Its easier to keep records of who sent and who to so that partners arent always the same and to make sure people who dont send, dont get to participate anymore. I had planned on the next one being after the SGGA so the vendors would not be as busy

it would be just as easy to have the records emailed though

I think both of them can share in the responsiblity. They both love suggies and they both seem to love being involved in spreading the fun and joy that comes with the gift exchange. I think between the two of them they can make it the best gift exchange ever. I was in the last two and loved it. I can't wait for the next one.

I read about it in the chat room. I would love to be in it. What about doing this monthly and have the two that want to do this alternate each month. I don't know what all is involved in it...but hey when you have 2 people that want to work hard for FREE...don't pass it up.

I know everyone that was involved in the last one had a great time..were excited about giving and getting...and the suggies I am sure LOVED it.

I love this idea. I would love to be added aswell! (I should have my suggies in about 2 months, or less)

I haven't been involved till the last one with Facehugs and I think she was fantastic. I don't blame her for me not getting a gift, I think she handled it correctly when she tried to make it better. I would like to add that who ever does it should be notified of who did participate and who did not. I think it was kinda unfair that I, as well as some others, didn't get anything but again, that was not Facehugs fault. I also think that it should be stressed that who does accept the invitation to participate does it willingly and does it responsibly meaning they should not accept if they know that they can't come through.

OOOOO... This sounds like so much fun! Count me in!

The last post on here was from Feb of 2008..we don't do them here anymore-there were too many issues.

Maybe if someone else said that they would be in charge of an exchange we could have one for Christmas.

It didn't have to do with anyone being in charge. It's kind of complicated but in a nutshell, had to do with safety of items sent/received. I don't believe it's coming back.

I thought it was because some folks didn't send gifts.

I did hear about the safety issues of some items but Hey its the thought that counts on that. I thought it was really sucky that some didnt even bother to send gifts but didnt have a problem receiving.

No, those people were just excluded from the next

I did a couple of the exchanges, they were really fun. Tootles did a great job organizing them. It is a shame a few bad apples had to ruin the fun.

Why not try again? Seems like it would be a ton of fun. Not like the gift has to be expensive. I know that I would enjoy it anyway.

That sounds really cool...why not try one more time put A list up of no no items,set prices,ect..specify exactly that its for the gliders,maybe pouches or ?????

Sounds like a lot of fun! I'd participate! I agree with sugababie on making a list that specifies everything. And if people who want to participate and then dont, shouldnt be allowed to participate the next time. Hope we can do it!!
