So I have a question, I am going to start off with saying No bashing, we are all adults here and no need for being rude, I just want some other opinions.

I have a neutered male and a not neutered male. The neutered male was thought to be sterile, he never grew a bold spot but due to me never truly knowing I got him neutered anyway. He is a year and a half and was introduced to my other male when my other male was 8 weeks old, they took each other in the first day they saw each other, no fighting just that simple, my older male actually took care of the other male like it was his child,he'd clean him up carry him on his back etc.

Keep in mind that this older male is special, he was a rejected joey and hand raised by me and acts different then any glider i've ever seen.

I recently got a female after quarantine they accepted her the first day, no fighting no nothing, I guess I got lucky with them, they all play and take care of each other. I noticed yesterday my female was in heat and my uneutered male was all over her. Once again no fighting between males or between the female, they all seem just relaxed.

My question is will she be okay to have joeys? I keep reading all these stories on how it doesn't work and they eat them, but it has worked with me, when I first introd my males none of them where neutered I only neutered my other male simply because I got my female and him being unlineaged I didn't want him breeding.

Does anyone have any stories where this has actually worked? I am prepared to hand raise the joey if needed but I am almost 100% sure this will work out fine, just wanting to know if anyone else has done this successfully?

I am going to say this again, I dont want any rude name calling comments. We are all mature here. there is a difference between being a jerk and expressing you own opinion. I am open to opinions.

I'd call that having a neutered male with a breeding pair. I have 2 neutered males in the same cage as my breeding trio and the dynamics are wonderful. You may always have issues with rejection/joey loss in any breeding situation but in my opinion your setup does not sound high risk.

A reverse trio in my opinion is two intact males with one female. This would be something I would strongly advise against doing for a lot of reasons.

Good luck!

Sounds like it would be a good group. The neutered male would probably act like an uncle/babysitter for the joeys. ;)

Thank you for your reply that relieves a lot of my stress. so your neutered males never try to kill the joeys or anything? I think that both my males will help raise the babies but that's just my theory. I am pretty relived and excited for these babies I feel like im the one pregnant xD I love my sugar butts so much

awe awesome!! it'll be better for the pair then, the males are super bonded i had to separate the male after the neuter when I reintroduced them the unetuered male gave him kisses and hugged him and played with him and followed him everywhere. The female is still new but she takes comfort in them both.

There is always a chance that any adult may harm the joeys so it isn't 100% guaranteed but setups like yours are common and seem to generally do well.

Congrats anyway. Are you planning on keeping them? And is your cage big enough for 5?
