I have 4 sugar gliders a male and female in one cage and another male and female in another cage. I introduced them in the bathtub and everything went well, I was hoping to put them all together in one cage. right now I have their cages side by side but my older male will grab the tail of the other male in the other cage and try to bite him I had to put a blanket between the cages but when they're out of the cage in the tub they get along how can I make a smooth transition where they can live together

Are both males neutered? If they are intact they might get along OK until one of the females is in heat - which could start a fight over breeding rights.

If they are not neutered - I would have that taken care of before going any further with introductions. Then give them a month or so for their hormone levels to come down before moving forward with the introductions.

How old are the gliders? If they are all adults you may need to watch them very carefully for the first several nights they are together. There may be some issues between the pairs establishing their dominance in the new colonies.

Be sure to provide multiple sleeping pouches and to put their food into the cage in several locations - some high, some low or on opposite sides of the cage so no glider can prevent the others from eating.

They are not neutered, the older male (Hulk) is over a year. The person I got him from said she didn't really give him attention, and he was by himself for the whole time she had him, he bonded really quick to me and got along with the others in the tub, but I kept him in a separated cage cause the female (Rocket 4 months) would crab at him in the cage. My aunt gave me her sugar glider a female (Viper 4 months), her and hulk instantly got along he was rubbing his head all over her and she started snuggling up to him and they have been together ever since. But then that's when he started trying to reach thru the cage and grab the other male's (Thor 3 months) tail. Rocket and Viper were cage mates at one time my aunt had them both she gave me them a month apart and they get along well.

The boys should be neutered ASAP - or you will have additional problems housing them all together. Not only would it be likely that the boys will fight with each other when the girls are in heat but if both girls are carrying joeys there might be some problems between them as well that could result in loss of joeys they are carrying.

If the girls are only 4 months OOP they are probably not yet mature and may not have begun monthly heat cycles.

If you do not neuter the males you could have a glider population explosion - doubling the number of gliders very quickly.
