Jax had his surgery yesterday, and so far he hasn't even fussed with his incision spot. He ate, played on his wheel and slept well. Should I be waking up every couple hours again tonight or do you think we are out of the woods? For those looking at neuters, I originally was getting a laser surgery pom off but after speaking with some expeireinced people they recommended the BEST vet. He doesn't do it with a laser (so the nerves aren't affected) he left pom on to hide the incision and since he didn't use any stiching or glue it seems that Jax hasn't even noticed what was done.
YEAH! The vet said that the glue or stiches tend to irritate / annoy the gliders so they try to remove them which causes the SM some see in rare cases. He also gave him 2 kinds of pain meds yesterday and more to give for the next 2-3 days. I am now a convert, pom on without laser or glue.

I can only tell you from my experience - I couldn't help but sleep by the cage after both my boys were neutered lol. Do what's comfortable for you - but I would make sure you can at least roll over in bed and listen. I was always told that if they were sm'ing you would know - it would be very aggressive. On a positive note, both my boys had pom on and they did just fine:)

It's tough because before I read about the poor little glider tonight with his neuter woes - I would have said "Yep! I think you are out of the woods!" and you probably are but keep checking on him to be safe. It will give you peace of mind to check on him anyway and see he is OK. Glad things are going well!

I'm sure he's loving all the added attention. Glad all is still going well...all these neuter posts scare me to death...Caci goes in tom. morning bright & early, but he's getting laser surgery so I am sooooo hoping I don't have too much to worry about. (but of course I will anyway, that's what us mamas' do)

I will agree it is really scary seeing so many neuter issues. If I ever got more they would have to come pre-neutered. lol JazznZoey.. Good luck! I'll keep you in my thoughts.

I can only tell you what I did. I was waking up every 1-2 hours for the second night and the third night I only checked once

Thanks! So far today he seems fine, more interested in Apple's pouch being in his cage.. I'm hoping that will keep his mind distracted.
