I have been trying to start a meal worm farm for a while but while I had beetles I didn't see any worms...until last night!
Now I need to know what to do next. I think I need to separate the worms and the beetles but I am not sure how I would do this...do I try to sift out the worms or do I pick up the beetles?
Any advice would be appreciated :D
ETA: Or do I leave the beetles until they start dying to get the maximum amount of worms/not have 2 drawers of worms...

When I had my mealworm farm I picked out the beetles and moved them to another container to continue breeding.
Continue feeding the worms but make sure to put something under the carrots or what ever you use for food and moisture to keep it away from the bedding. Butter lids work perfectly. You can see the worms grow as they crawl up on the lid to eat. It takes a month or longer before they are large enough to feed to your gliders.

Lol!!! You post's tittle made me laugh, and I needed it! Where else would you see someone happy about having worms?! :) Glad your farm is coming along.

I did just as Candy said above - I'm feeding home grown mealies now :-) They are about the right length, just not as big around as the store bought. How I'm going to pick all those meal worms out of the bedding of oatmeal is beyond me. I wonder if using wheat germ would be ok? Something that would shift through a strainer but can be bought at the store.

Congrats on your meal worms. How many sugars should someone own to have their own meal worm farm?

It depends on their size, I personally keep them where they are until I can pick them up and give it to my babies.
Boots16: it depends if you would like to have a farm. I started mine when I only had 1 glider since I had to drive 45 mins to the nearest petco/petsmart to get mealworms since the local pet store in town didn't always have it in stock.

I have 17 chickens, so I'm thinking I'll never have too many meal worms. Wish they'd hurry and get nice and fat.

We just purchased our drawers yesterday to start our mealworm farm..I have to go to home depot tomorrow to get the supplies I need to change the bottoms out to filters. How many did you start with? We were thinking about ordering about 5000.
kare: If you have enough mealworms most of the mom and pops pet stores will buy some from you if they run out and have to wait a while for the next shipment.
