I have 2 moms with joeys in pouch. They were a trio that i split up because i learned trios didnt always work and i dont like taking chances. Draya is doing good being alone and her joey is growing! She lays on her side lots ( i assume trying to get comfy ) and she lets me pet her even if joey is oop a little. I dont touch the joey because it looks like its still very small and its usually only a foot or back hanging out.
Mesha and Loki are doing good too! Loki is cleaning the baby lots. Meshas joey is getting big too. Withen the past few days its bottom is always hanging out. I cant believe how cute they are! She also doesent care if i touch her when the joey is hanging out. Her joey is alot bigger so i will admit i do touch it. I dont try to pick it up or anything like that, but i lightly place a clean finger on its bottom while i talk to Mesha. She has never reacted to me doing this. I am only doing what they allow by the way. Im not pushing.
Because i have gotten so much scarry info about how my gliders could be vicious man eaters if they breed im treading lightly! Im always looking for some kind of reaction or noise to tell me to back off but havent gotten any yet. So so far my babies are still sweethearts. Im relieved.
Is it ok for me to touch the babies at this time? Does it put the baby at risk to be rejected? I have all my gliders housed closely together withen touching distance so should i keep doing the scent swapping throught carring the joeys until there weened and can join? When i can join them together do i have to do all the intro stuff because there so close? Should i still keep there routine the same? Eg. Bonding bag time ect. How can i make mommys more comfy?
Even though trios are not the best I would think separating 2 pregnant females from their family has been very stressful and what is worse is there is one female now all alone. It would have worried me worse that the separation and loneliness would cause a cannibalizing rather than 2 possibly rival females.
My thoughts might not be important as I do not breed but if I were to I wouldn't have done that. I hope someone can help with your other questions.

I would agree with that, but now you should wait until theyre a ltle bigger so the other female doesnt see them as a potential threat, keeping the cages so they can atleast see each other is probably the best you can do for now. Im not an expert but where is the dads? They usually help with the joeys its important, the moms need a part time sitter and the dads assist in feeding.

I didnt like doing it but mesha kept trying to go into drayas pouch. The dad is with mesha. I know how important the dad is but i didnt have a choice.
Ive been watching closely for any signs of stress, depression, ect. Its one day at a time.
Thankx anyway, i guess i will try to find my answers elseware.

you probably did right by separating them then. she might have been trying to pull the other's joey out. after the lone girl's joey is completely OOP, she will need you to babysit her joey so she can eat and excercise. if you go to suzsugargliders, there is a chart that tells you how long each day to handle the babies. there is also a lot of good info there. good luck!

If you are planning on reintroducing them after the joeys are weaned, I hope dad is already neutered by now. I would NOT have their cages within touching distance - at least 8-10" apart so they can see/smell each other but not hurt one another. ESpecially when the joeys get to the age they're able to climb around, that could end poorly.
Yes, keep their routine the same as long as they do not seem stressed by it. If they're comfortable with you handling them, then do so. If it seems to bother them, then back off. With the lone one, you will likely be babysitting the joey for her so she can eat. She may need you to offer her food by the pouch if she is not wanting to leave when she gets super big...
