Okay so me and my bf just got a male and female pair of gliders from a couple who didnt want them anymore. We realize now that we shouldve asked more questions, but we didnt. So theyre both 2 years old and the male is neutered. However, they had a mesh barrier down the middle of the cage and when we asked why, the woman said that it was up when she bought them so they just left it up. (No clue who she got them from). It seems sorta barbaric to keep them separated, so weve been taking it down and letting them be together every few days and then putting it back up at night to be safe. My question is, what are warning signs that they need to stay separated? They seem like they are bonded to one another and always want to sleep in the same pouch. They dont ball up but they do crawl on top of each other and lick one another so I just wanna make sure Im not making a huge mistake. Pls give any advice. Just to add, now that Ive done my research, I realize we should have bought them from someone with all of the information. But they needed saving, so I stand by our choice!

o boy,

ok, if they fight, ball up, scream, violent nasty fighting THEN keep
them separate.
IF not then put them together AND LEAVE THEM TOGETHER.
they are good to go.

mainly watch them at night, if they are fine and not fighting while awake,
they are good to go to be always together.
since you have put them together and one is not died they seem ready to
be together.

do not separate them again unless they fight.

Okay, theyve been together for 2-3 days now and they make noises at night but never ball up. They just crawl on each other. And theyve been sleeping in a pounce together, so Im assuming Im good?

sounds like they are great. Our gliders have small spats, in pouch if one is
unhappy he will let others know, some of them HARD groom me and it hurts, so if they
are hard grooming one he may spat for a second. crawling over each other is normal,
they will groom each other at times.

Gus is our dominate male, he will push away riggs's head and start grooming
riggs belly, looks like he has him in a wrestling move.

they will sometimes try to steal food or treats, and that can cause a quick
spat, and gus will sometimes chase some of the others away or around, he has not
done that much lately.
