Water Bottle

Using a cage mounted ball-bearing water bottle is common with sugar gliders. It is good practice to always have TWO bottles hanging, side by side. This helps to mitigate the risk of one failing or going dry.

Also, it is recommended to never put additives in the water bottle. A powder-based substance can easily gum up the ball bearings and fail the water bottle. If you need to feed something other than water, it is recommended to use a bowl. It may also be a good practice to also provide water nightly with a feeding in a bowl. Water is that important to our pets.

It is very possible that a sugar glider will hide the fact that it is not getting water, so be sure to check bottles daily, keep them clean, provide water in other ways, and keep a keen eye on your pet.
