 Butterflies laying eggs today

I caught the Gulf Fritillary butterflies laying eggs today so I got some photos. I cant wait until next year when the vines should be much more full and healthy. I'm thinking of planting even more of them around the yard and up the fence.

Beautiful! They're wonderful little critters, aren't they? You may not need to get more passionvines; the second year they grow much larger. They're also fairly invasive, and will be coming up from root runners as far as six or eight feet away from the original vine. Other plants you can try are green milkweed and Mexican butterfly weed, both very pretty and attract monarchs. And blue mistflower (agaretum) brings dozens of queen butterflies, they get so intoxicated from the nectar you can walk right into the middle of the cloud of butterflies. Amazing!
