Fourth sugar glider

 Fourth sugar glider

I got a new and fourth glider today from Greg Brondo. I saw him advertised on dfw.forsale. Greg had him as a Christmas gift and decided it was not in the animals best interest to be in their care since his wife was pregnant and they also got a kitten for Christmas. I purchased him for $150 along with his cage and other miscellaneous things. I was told that he was purchased from breeder Gena Yarger at Sugar Boogers in Mabank, Texas 903-451-9509 and he is approximately 6 months old. Tonight I modified Greg's cage a little bit. He had built a cylinder 20" in diameter of 1/2" mesh that was supported by three large dowels screwed into a particle board base. First I removed it from its dowel supporting structure to simply let it sit in a large round plastic flower pot base filled with shavings. Then I fashioned a very tall and much wider door from mesh material and strengthened the edges of it with metal rods. I attached it to the cage with wire and cut out his old tiny openings. Now I am able to put anything into the cage and get to the animals if necessary. I installed two tree branches and fashioned two separate locking mechanisms out of a metal rod. Seems to do the trick.
