One of my sugar gliders had a tooth abcest. She's fine now, but i was wondering if they're ways to prevent teeth issues?

I was thinking using tooth picks and dental floss to prevent build up but I wanted to run it by someone.

With floss most have that mint falvoring Does anyone know if that's safe for gliders?

typically, an exotic pet vet will do the dental cleaning during an annual wellness exam - doing something yourself seems a good way to get bit...

I dont know about flossing, but I do know that occasional kibble can help with the build up of plaque due to the hard nature. Also letting them chew on things like cooked chicken necks can help scrape the plaque off. If flossing works please let me know.
