Subject: Update on rescues....

Teh single male, Rocky, is doing much better. The ledbetters seems to have started him on the road to recovery. Last night after I put him in his box after a feeding he climbed out and roamed around his cage for a little while. He started drinking on his own. This morning most of the nectar in the dish in his cage is gone! He has become more aware of his surroundings and even wants to fight the force feedings. Just to make sure I plan on continue the eyedropper feedings until I actually see him eat something. He's got the makings of a great gliders.

I realize I still have a long way to go but its a sign, I think.

Columbia and Eddie (mated couple) seem to be gentling down some. Eddie ate some Brisky's and Turkey. Columbia is still really stressed. I did see her take some juice but the only thing I saw her eat was feces. She will let us pet her, if we don't try to pick her up and don't move fast. Eddie acts like he was never held but did come over to smell my hand. He nipped at me a couple of times but not like he was trying to hurt me. Columbia was supposed to have babies in pouch. If she does they are soo small you cannot see them because of her weight.

Bourbon thanks again for the call. And thanks to everyone who replied to my postings. I have learned I do have the emotional fortitude to do rescues. Ya'll have helped me save some very special kiddos. Again thanks. I will post pics on our site this weekend.

BTW, these babies will remain in the shelter as part of our family. I do not want to risk tramatizing them any further.

Health and Happiness to everyone.
