It sounds like you need to do some more bonding with her to earn her trust. Gliders bond with other family members by way of smell. The male dominate glider will scent all of his family members to have a like smell. Try taking out her pouch and keeping her with you during the day as much as possible. This way it will get used to you and your enviroment. Also you need to were an old tshirt for a couple of days, then you can cut it up and line her pouch with it or hangit in the cage. That way she will learn your scent. Also, you want her to associate your hands with good things. Try a drop of honey on your finger and let her lick it off. Yu can feed her her favorite treats. I takes time to bond with your glider so have patience. The noise she is making is called crabbing. It is a defense mechanism.
She is trying to make herself look toucher. If you let the noise and the biting deter you she will know it and keep it up.

Hope this helps....

: I just got my first sugar glider, Darby, for my 18th birthday. She hates me. . she makes an awful hissing/grunting noise when I get near her. She stays in her tube or pouch until she is ready to come out, I have to sit and wait on her to come out if I want to try to play with her. What is wrong?
