: : My sugarglider is an 8-9 week old baby. I have carried her around with me daily for a couple of hours each day (inbetween two tee-shirts). Every time I look at her she makes that crying sound and when I pick her up she bites. I have seen no improvement since I purchased her two weeks ago. TheThanks for any help.

: You have taken her away from her mother way too early and most likely the breeder did not offer any attention. She will be missing her kind terribly and will be terrified at the big giant. My best suggestion is to get another and then take it slow from there.

No, you have not taken her away from her mother to early. In fact if she were any older she'd be much harder to bond with. The best time to get a sugarglider is between 6-8 weeks old. The reason your baby is not bonding is probably because she was not handraised. It may also be because she is older than you think and is veryshy and scared. Remember she is just frightened, give her time and persivere. Handfeeding lowfat fruity yogurts also helps, in fact its often the push in the right direction that gliders need. Feeed all treat foods out of cage by hand so she atticipates your coming . Also never let go or leave her alone when she bites or she will relise that she will get released for biting. Be tender and loving, DON"T get rid of her and get another, my glider acted the same way when I got him. Don't lose hope!!!
