Subject: Churring noises--pregnant female with joeys in pouch
Posted by Pamela on October 19, 1999 at 11:34:49 from 209.90.140.116

This is our female Toolah's 3rd litter, and each time the joeys get close to emergence I have noticed that Toolah makes these 'churring' noises. Only when the sun goes down-when she's in her house, sometimes I can also hear them early in the morning before they go to sleep(but only for a short time). Does she make these noises because she's uncomfortable-the joeys are beginning to hurt her when they are suckling---or is she just talking to her joeys?
She almost sounds as if she's in pain---Does anyone else experience this? If you have any ideas or thoughts on this subject I would be most grateful for a response. Thanking you in advance---Pamela
