: first off:about leashes!

: wasn't good he wasn't that used to me yet.so he is pretty much used to me
: now so i might try it this spring. And burbon don't get worried
: i will only leash him when we go outside:)

Okay Steve as you have read I am well researched on gliders, so to the leash thing,, and this is only my opinion..
I work with lots of people regarding bonding and taming, as well as emercency situations.. The number of gliders that I have known about that the owners have leashes, isn't good, however; there are a few that have used them successfully. The things that have happened has ranged from torn memranes, chocking, literally fighting with the glider to get it on them, them getting twisted in it while in the pocket or pouch. Improperly putting it on them causeing them to tighten. The stress that it causes isn't always worth the risk. I am a firm believer in building a trust. I have 5 gliders in my home, all are AE (american express.. never leave home without them), never have I ever confined them, they stay with me out of love and trust. But it takes time to build. I take mine everywhere, including out of state trips.

: Second on the list:cage size!hmmm screw cage size I say!!!
: my glider hardly is in his cage!!i am only 14 so i can tollerate this you may be able to
: though so here is what i do with my glider.
: I put him in my room he sleeps here he plays in my room he sh*ts in my room and everything!
: there is tons of room for him to play and i am on my computer in here so he will always
: have attention from me!i have safe proofed my room along with cleaning it every week!

A lot of people have worked very hard on a gliderproofing page, to protect the gliders. Too many times, things happen without the owners knowledge, There are again a few people that have been able to sucessfully let their gliders run loose freely, however; that list is slowly dwindleing. Some have taken things for granted, and awaken to some horrible surprise in the morn. If a glider comes down with Hind Leg Paralsys type sysmptoms, and they rush it to a vet, many times one of the questions is.. could it have gotten injured? The risks, in a room unattented are very high. Just think to yourself, "would you leave a toddler in a childproof room for 8 hours" Gliders are very much like toddlers, in the sense they are very, curious, and will explore just about anything. I know of several people that have woken up and found their glider in many different situations, from injuries to deaths. One person, love him to death, but he woke up to find his dead in his pillow, others have rolled over on them, when the glider crawled under the sheets to be near her. Another woke up to find his with his toungue in the outlet of his stove. A young girl found hers after her mom did her laundry from her room, she was inside of her pants pocket, where she curled up to go to sleep. Needless to say none of these gliders lived.

: 3 on the list:happy thanksgiving to everyone!its kinda late for that but what the hell o
: hehe.
: also i am looking for another glider to play with my male.is there much
: of a difference between one and 2?i mean with 2 you just double up the food amount right?
: i mean they would both be playing around in my room and stuff so i see no difference in 2.
: give me some feed back on this stuff.:)

well others will answer this one, I have my Baybe, my hubby has his Smokey, others I know, manage many more than 2 , but it is more work..But just like kids, you improvise..
