well said Bourbon...I should add my male glider was traumatized by hands before i got him.....the lady who had him would reach into the cage with heavy gardening gloves on to "grab" him...she was very forceful...

: As Virginia had said, it all depends more on the history, not even so much as that it hadn't been handled, but how traumatized it was, the trust building is the time consumer. You just have to give it time to "trust" you. the bonding comes with time, work on the trust issues first..and that don't matter if it is 8 weeks or 8 years..obviously if it had been traumatized, and is afraid of people, hands etc.. it may take longer.. be patient, and really spend the time learning it..find out what it is he likes or don't like, find out what scares him, or calms him..then protect him at all costs, make him feel as if you are his "safe zone"
