yes, some of the concerns are the same, if you are refering to the calcium:phosporus ratio.. but , not hedgehog food, or hamster food, you are probably right when you said probably marking everything.. The bedding in a gliders cage has very little to do with the odors, they urinate on the sides of their cage wire, very little actually make it to the bottom of the cage.
The more you clean their cage, the more they will mark it. If allowed to be left alone for a few more days, the smell will disapate, and it won't be so bad at all, some don't notice it at all. Too many Vits in their diet will also cause a strong urine smell, as well as an improper diet. Check out the link that maria left in the diets, it will give you some different glider diets, that are proven diets, they have been used by many people for a long time.
